Windsor police are reminding parents to protect their children from strangers after a report about a suspicious vehicle around Queen Victoria Public School.

The incident happened around 6 p.m. on April 17 at the elementary school in the 1300 block of Victoria Avenue.

A parent said her kids were playing at the park on school grounds when a white car stopped near them.

Inside the car were two males, who told the children to get in the vehicle.

The woman said the strangers drove away when they noticed that the kids had a parent nearby.

She last saw the car on Ellis Street West, heading toward Ouellette Avenue.

The woman contacted police. Officers searched the area, but didn’t find the car and its occupants.

Police advise parents to teach their children to never go anywhere with a stranger, never take anything from a stranger, and never talk to a stranger.

Children should also be taught about “safe” strangers such as police officers and other emergency responders such as firefighters and paramedics.

The public is encouraged to contact police about suspicious persons or vehicles.

Officers can be reached at 519-255-6700 ext. 4305. Anonymous tips can be made via Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477 or www.catchcrooks.com.
