Windsor police bust marijuana grow-op

Two Windsor men are facing charges and an estimated $60,000 in marijuana plants have been seized after police raided a pot-growing operation on Wednesday.

As part of an investigation by the drugs and guns unit (DIGS), Windsor police executed a search warrant on a residence in the 400 block of Grove Avenue around 2:30 p.m.

Tactical team members assisted in entering the home and arresting a 26-year-old male.

Found inside the residence were: 60 marijuana plants, 65.2 grams of cannabis, 56.9 grams of psilocybin (magic mushrooms), $1,455 in Canadian cash, a digital scale, and drug packaging materials.

Also seized were a Mossberg long rifle and four prohibited knives. The firearm was not properly stored.

Another male suspect associated with the address turned himself into Windsor police headquarters around 8:15 p.m.

Windsor resident Arman Farhangdoust, the 26-year-old male arrested at the address, has been charged with unlawful production of cannabis marijuana, possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, possession of psilocybin for the purpose of trafficking, and storing a firearm contrary to regulations.

Daniel Dosen, 22, of Windsor, is charged with unlawful production of cannabis marijuana, possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, possession of psilocybin for the purpose of trafficking, storing a firearm contrary to regulations, possession of a firearm without holding a licence, and four counts of possession of a prohibited weapon.
