A Leamington motorist took an impaired trip to The Beer Store after his pickup truck was seen moving erratically through Kingsville on Saturday evening, say Essex County OPP.
The incident happened shortly before 4:20 p.m. on Dec. 10. Police said they received a report of a grey GMC pickup truck that was endangering a neighbourhood.
The vehicle ended up on a curb in the parking lot of The Beer Store at 251 Main St. W., in Kingsville.
Police arrived at the scene and found the driver still present, showing signs of impairment.
The motorist — a 49-year-old Leamington man — was asked to take a sobriety test on a screening device. He failed.
The driver now faces charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and having a blood alcohol level exceeding 80 milligrams. He’s due to appear in court in Windsor on Dec. 21.
