Windsor police are hunting for a man who robbed six businesses in one night in Windsor — a person who the public should consider armed and dangerous, say investigators.
All the incidents occurred in the space of about four hours, from late Sunday to early Monday.
Patrol officers were first called to a convenience store in the 900 block of Ouellette Avenue on Sunday around 11:45 p.m.
A male brandishing a blunt weapon had entered the business and demanded money.
In the hours that followed, police responded to five similar robbery incidents at various locations across the city, including:
- A convenience store in the 800 block of Campbell Avenue around 3 a.m. Monday.
- A restaurant in the 400 block of Tecumseh Road East around 3:45 a.m. Monday.
- A convenience store in the 1300 block of Walker Road around 3:50 a.m. Monday.
- A restaurant connected to the previous store in the 1300 block of Walker Road.
- A restaurant in the 2200 block of Wyandotte Street East around 4 a.m. Monday.
Police believe it was the same culprit in each incident: A male armed with a blunt object resembling a club or stick.
No one was hurt in the robberies. In each incident, the suspect fled with a quantity of cash.
A suspect vehicle was involved, alternately described as a white SUV or a dark four-door hatchback car.
Detectives with the Major Crimes Branch are continuing to investigate and are attempting to identify the robber.
While police are appealing to the public for information, they are also advising that anyone who sees this suspect should not approach him.
A security camera at one of the convenience stores recorded the robber in the act.
Anyone with information about this individual or these crimes is asked to call investigators at 519-255-6700 ext. 4830.
