Windsor police have arrested an assault suspect caught on surveillance video minutes before he allegedly groped a female customer and punched a store employee on July 12.

Officers were dispatched to a store in the 300 block of Tecumseh Road East at around 5:30 p.m. for reports of an assault.

A woman told a store employee that a man had touched her daughter inappropriately. The man, who investigators said entered the store at around 5:25 p.m, punched a different employee who asked him to leave the store.

Investigators said the employee fell to the ground and sustained non-life threatening injuries.

At around noon on Monday, police responded to a report of a suspicious male in the 300 block of Chatham Street West. Officers determined the man was the suspect from the earlier store assault and placed him under arrest. They also learned the man had conditions not to be in that location.

Casey Hoyt, 36, of Windsor, is charged with assault and breach of undertaking.

Investigators are still looking to speak with the female customer, possibly in her late teens, who was touched. She left the scene before speaking with officers.
