Windsor police are looking for two males who brandished what looked like a hammer or a small axe when they robbed a convenience store on University Avenue West early Monday.
The crime happened shortly before 4:30 a.m. at the 3 3 One 3 3 Convenience store (936 University Ave. W).
Security cameras recorded the two suspects as they entered the business with their faces covered.
They approached the store’s two employees. One of the suspects threatened with the melee weapon and ordered the employees to hand over cash.
After taking quantities of money and cigarettes, the two masked males fled on foot. They were last seen running south on Oak Street towards Wyandotte Street West.
Both of the robbers had backpacks. Neither was wearing anything on his feet.
No one was hurt.

The suspect with the hammer or axe was described as a white male, about six feet tall. At the time of the crime, he was clad in a black hooded sweater with a green logo on the front, black shorts, a black toque, sunglasses, and a black backpack.
The other suspect was also described as a white male, about six feet tall. At the time of the crime, he wore a black hooded zip-up sweater, a blue T-shirt with an Adidas logo, a baseball hat, a red bandanna over his face, sungalsses, and a red backpack.
