A Toronto man is facing charges after Windsor police found a large quantity of illicit drugs — including more than 500 grams of suspected crystal meth — in a vehicle at a rest stop near Tilbury.
The arrest and seizure took place on the night of Nov. 30 as a result of an investigation by the Windsor police drugs and guns unit (DIGS).
The suspect was located at the Tilbury rest stop off Highway 401 around 10:35 p.m. Multiple units converged on the scene, including members of the tactical team, a police dog, and patrol officers.
The suspect was taken into custody without trouble.
After receiving judicial authorization, officers searched the vehicle and discovered 524 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (crystal meth), 325 grams of suspected cocaine, and 3.9 grams of suspected crack cocaine.
Andrew Park, 32, of Toronto, has been charged with possession of suspected methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of suspected cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of suspected crack cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
