Charges have been laid after Windsor police responded to yet another break-and-enter call in the city.

This incident took place on Monday night. Around 10 p.m., patrol officers attended a business in the 3000 block of Tecumseh Road East and found that its glass front door had been smashed open.

A quantity of merchandise was taken from the store.

Just 15 minutes later, members of the Windsor police Property Crimes Unit were in the 1700 block of Walker Road when they noticed a male on a bicycle wearing a balaclava and a backpack.

As the officers watched, the man rode to the rear of a business, got off his bike, and began peering into the windows. The business was closed at the time.

The officers approached the suspect and arrested him without trouble.

When the man was searched, police found items that had been stolen in the recent break-in on Tecumseh Road East.

David Calhoun, 52, of Windsor, faces two counts of breaking and entering.

Monday night’s arrest followed arrests that Windsor police made last Sunday and last week — all related to other break-in cases.
