Windsor police arrested a man after he was spotted with a stolen car in the city’s east end on Wednesday — just two months after his previous arrest on a vehicle theft charge.

Blake Carter, 21, of Windsor, faces new charges of possession of stolen property (value exceeding $5,000), possession of stolen property (value under $5,000), possession of suspected methamphetamine and two counts of breach of probation.

Police said a grey Cadillac was reported missing from the 5400 block of Reginald Street on Monday.

Two days later, members of the Windsor police property crimes unit noticed a vehicle matching the description parked in a driveway in the 2400 block of Arthur Road.

The officers checked the licence plate and learned that the plate had been reported stolen Jan. 24.

The accused was seen getting out of the car and messing around with the front of the vehicle. Police said the man “appeared to be removing the licence plate.”

Investigators and patrol officers moved in to arrest the man around 10:15 a.m.

A search of his person turned up a quantity of suspected methamphetamine.
