Windsor police believe they know the identity of the male who performed an indecent act in front of a lone female employee at a Subway restaurant last month.

But as of Monday afternoon, the suspect had yet to be located and arrested.

The incident happened on March 28 around 9:30 p.m. in the Subway restaurant at 2224 Walker Rd.

A security camera recorded a male loitering in the business for almost an hour before the crime occurred.

Police have since removed images of the suspect from their news releases and social media accounts. But members of the public — including the Subway employee — have been posting about the incident online.

According to the employee, a man entered the restaurant around 8:30 p.m. and asked if his cellphone could be charged.

The employee granted the request.

The man proceeded to sit and wait in the dining area. Eventually, he retrieved his cellphone — with his genitals visible. The suspect allegedly ejaculated on the floor and uttered obscenities at the employee, then walked out.

The victim — a 21-year-old woman who did not want her name published — said she was shaken by the incident, but will not let it defeat her. She thanked Windsor police and the community for their efforts in the case.
