Two Windsor men are facing charges after they allegedly made purchases at gas stations and convenience stores using credit cards stolen in a break-and-enter incident.
The break-in happened on the morning of April 6 in the 500 block of Oak Street, at the residence of an elderly man.
The resident told police that he woke before 5:30 a.m. to discover an intruder in his bedroom.
The suspect quickly fled the home. The resident then learned that many items were missing, including credit cards.
Transaction records show the stolen credit cards were used a few hours later at multiple businesses.
The Windsor police property crimes unit investigated the matter and were able to identify two suspects.
Each suspect was arrested on Wednesday at separate locations in Windsor.
Chad Clark and Shawn Heywood, both 46, face charges of breaking and entering, possession of stolen property (value under $5,000), and fraud related to the stolen credit cards.
