Windsor police have arrested a man and charged him with murder in relation to the death of Autumn Taggart — the woman whose body was found in her apartment earlier this summer.
The arrest was made Friday. At press time, police had not released the name of the accused — but said he will face numerous charges, including one count of first-degree murder.
No other suspects are being sought in the case.
Taggart, 31, who was also known as Maya Madolyn, died of blunt force trauma in her unit on the third floor of 1382 University Ave. West.
Officers found the victim’s body on June 10 around 8 p.m. when they responded to a report of a sudden death.
Police have said Taggart’s child — Gavin Sherwin, now 10 — was home at the time of the crime.
The investigation by the Major Crimes Branch continues. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 519-255-6700 ext. 4830.
