The man who allegedly robbed five different Mac’s convenience stores across Windsor in less than three days was growing more aggressive in his most recent crimes, according to details from police.

Rofail Toto, 21, of Windsor, is facing six counts of robbery and one count of mischief after his arrest on Thursday afternoon.

Investigators believe the accused was the man who brandished a knife and demanded money at Mac’s locations on Mill Street, Matchette Road, and Jefferson Boulevard — all on the night of Aug. 13.

Police said the suspect was next seen on Thursday shortly before 1:30 a.m., trying to get into a restaurant in the 1700 block of Huron Church Road.

Employees of the restaurant were able to keep the door closed on the suspect, despite his attempts to force his way inside. They also saw him damaging a parked vehicle before he left the area.

About 30 minutes later, officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Mac’s store at 2675 Lauzon Rd.

The suspect entered the store and grabbed the employee while brandishing a knife. After taking cash and cigarettes, the robber left and was see heading south on Lauzon Road.

The next report about the accused came around 3 a.m. from a Mac’s store and Esso gas station at 891 Campbell Ave.

Again, the suspect grabbed an employee. No weapon was seen, but the suspect allegedly threatened the employee and demanded money.

The suspect fled on foot and was last seen running west along the train tracks that run parallel to College Avenue.

The Windsor police Property Crimes Unit investigated and were quickly able to identify the suspect.

Officers located the accused on Thursday around 1 p.m. in the 3300 block of Millen Street.

He was arrested without further trouble.
