A drug investigation near downtown Windsor resulted in the arrest of a woman and the seizure of several suspected controlled substances, say police.
On Jan. 25, members of the Windsor police drugs and guns unit (DIGS) located a female suspect in the area of Pelissier Street and Pine Street — just west of the Ouellette Campus of Windsor Regional Hospital.
According to police, the woman tried to run from the officers, but was quickly apprehended.
Once the woman was under arrest, a search of her person uncovered a variety of suspected illicit drugs, including: methamphetamine, morphine, oxycodone (OxyContin), buprenorphine (Suboxone), and methylphenidate (Ritalin).
Sarah Bianchi, 36, of Windsor, has been charged with eight counts of possession of a controlled substance and three counts of breach of recognizance.
