Windsor police officers had to chase down and use a Taser on a man after they interrupted him trying to break into a vehicle on Monday morning.
Police responded around 10:30 a.m. to a report of a suspicious person using tools on the door of a vehicle in the area of McEwan Avenue and Pelletier Street.
According to police, officers arrived at the scene within three minutes — finding an adult male standing next to a vehicle with tools in his hand.
A “T-handle” tool was noticeably stuck in the vehicle door.
The man fled as soon as the officers approached.
A brief foot chase eastward occurred, ending in the area of Curry Avenue and Pelletier Street.
Police said the suspect remained unco-operative and refused to drop the items he was still carrying.
The officers used a Taser device before securing the man in handcuffs.
A search of the man resulted in the seizure of a knife, a pair of pliers, a coat hanger and a set of keys.
