Windsor police surrounded a home with two alleged burglars inside over the weekend after some sharp-eyed neighbours noticed the pair force their way through a back door.

Witnesses called police around 9:30 p.m. Saturday about a break-in at a house in the 1200 block of Elsmere Avenue.

Callers told police they saw two men show up in the neighbourhood on bicycles. The men knocked on the front door of the house. Then they went to the back yard and forced open a rear door.

Officers arrived and set up a perimeter. The back door was damaged and they could see lights inside the house turning on and off.

Police called for anyone in the house to come outside. The two men emerged from the home and were arrested.

Kevin Houle, 28, is charged with break and enter to a residence and fail to comply with condition of judicial release.

Brian Lazenby, 28, is charged with break and enter to a residence.
